De sessie werd georganiseerd door de Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA), in samenwerking met het Ministerie van Economische Zaken, Ondernemerschap en Technologische Innovatie (EZOTI), en met ondersteuning van de Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), het International Trade Center (ITC) en de WTO.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Doel en inhoud van de sessie<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het IFD-akkoord is gericht op het versterken van het investeringsklimaat door transparantie te vergroten, procedures te vereenvoudigen en te digitaliseren en door de instelling van een centraal aanspreekpunt voor investeerders. Tijdens de sessie kwamen onder meer de volgende onderdelen aan bod:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">een introductie van de doelstellingen en reikwijdte van het akkoord en de impact op Suriname;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de samenwerking tussen nationale en internationale actoren zoals SITA, EZOTI, IDB, ITC en WTO;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de werkwijze van de nationale Self Needs Assessment en de indeling in categorie\u00ebn A, B en C;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">praktische oefeningen waaronder een gap-analyse met betrekking tot transparantie, procedures en digitalisering;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">inventarisatie van bestaande regelgeving, portalen en proceduretijden;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vervolgstappen richting validatie en notificatie bij de WTO.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Belang voor Suriname<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De sessie vormde een belangrijke stap in de voorbereiding van de Self Needs Assessment, waarmee Suriname in kaart brengt welke onderdelen van het nationale investeringsbeleid reeds voldoen aan de bepalingen van het akkoord en waar verdere ontwikkeling of internationale ondersteuning nodig is.
