The RUBIS shipping and supply department supports the core business by trading refined fuels as RUBIS products, which are shipped to various destinations across the Caribbean.\u00a0 Over the past few years, the company has upgraded its fleet of vessels with the most recent additions being the Demerara, Saint James LG and Kensington LG.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Demerara is dedicated to supplying the RUBIS market in Guyana, delivering mogas, diesel, fuel oil and jet fuel. While, the Saint James LG and Kensington LG delivers propane and butane to Barbados, St Vincent, Grenada, Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Lucia and Dominica, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Demerara is built with the latest technology available for navigation including Azimuth propellers, diesel electric engines, bow thrusters, inert gas system, IMO emission standard of Tier 3 a requirement for the control of Nitrogen Oxides emission from the vessel, and the ability to load considerable volumes at low draft, especially important for Guyana waters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Demerara was built at Jiangsu New Yangzi shipyard in China and delivered on time despite Covid-19 restrictions.\u00a0 Her maiden voyage was in December 2022 from St Croix to Guyana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Saint James LG and Kensington LG were acquired by RUBIS in March and May 2023 respectively. Saint James set sail from Trinidad with its first cargo on April 2<\/span>nd<\/span>, 2023, while the Kensington launched on May 27<\/span>th<\/span> 2023.\u00a0 Both vessels have a maximum loading capacity of 21,000 bbls.<\/span><\/p>\n

All three vessel are managed by Maritec Tanker Management (a subsidiary of RUBIS) with crew of the highest standards, in keeping with all international requirements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The arrival of these three new vessels brings the Rubis fleet of vessels to an impressive ten (10).\u00a0 Five operate in the Caribbean and South America including the Bahamas Blue and Morbihan.\u00a0 There are five (5) other bitumen vessels operating mainly in Africa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new ships will generally load at Phoenix Park in Trinidad and occasionally at the SARA refinery in Martinique.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
