De sfeer was doordrongen van een gevoel van dringendheid en verantwoordelijkheid, aangezien dit strategische document niet alleen een routekaart was voor sociale vooruitgang, maar ook een concrete actieagenda vertegenwoordigde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minister Steven Mac Andrew van Arbeid, Werkgelegenheid en Jeugdzaken opende de bijeenkomst met nuchtere en doelgerichte opmerkingen, waarbij hij benadrukte dat het hebben van een werkdocument slechts het begin vormde van een langdurig proces van daadwerkelijke uitvoering en implementatie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze strategie was geen abstracte oefening, maar een noodzakelijke reactie op de behoefte aan verbetering binnen het sociale landschap van Suriname. Het derde Decent Work Country Programma van Suriname fungeerde als het kader voor deze inspanning, met een focus op wetgevende hervormingen binnen de sociale sector, ondersteund door eerdere wetgeving uit 2014 en 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De prioriteiten van de Surinaamse regering, zoals uiteengezet in het Meerjarig Ontwikkelingsplan 2022-2026, boden duidelijke richtlijnen voor deze inspanningen, waarbij sociale bescherming een centrale rol speelde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het verzoek van de president aan verschillende ministers in februari 2022 markeerde een keerpunt in dit proces, waarbij een grondige evaluatie van het socialezekerheidsstelsel werd ingezet, ondersteund door de International Labour Organization (ILO).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De daaropvolgende ontwikkeling van de Nationale Sociale Beschermingsstrategie was het resultaat van een inclusief proces, gekenmerkt door uitgebreide consultaties met belanghebbenden op verschillende niveaus. De laatste validatiesessie bood een gelegenheid om de laatste aanpassingen te bespreken en te verzekeren dat het document representatief was voor de gezamenlijke inspanningen en visie van alle betrokken partijen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze bijeenkomst was meer dan alleen een formele stap in het proces; het was een moment van erkenning van de uitdagingen en een bevestiging van de collectieve vastberadenheid om concrete verbeteringen te bewerkstelligen. De aanbevelingen die hieruit zullen voortkomen, moeten niet alleen de strategie uitzeten, maar ook daadwerkelijke veranderingen teweeg brengen die de sociale bescherming in Suriname kunnen verbeteren. Het werkdocument moet rond begin van de maand mei 2024 zijn opgeleverd.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aanwezig waren directeuren en technisch personeel van sociale bescherming, sociale zaken, ontwikkeling, financi\u00ebn en economie; statistici (sociale gebieden); vertegenwoordigers van de VSB (waaronder de VSB vertegenwoordigers in de Nationale Decent Work Commissie), de vakbeweging en andere ontwikkelingspartners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_3 1_3 fusion-one-third fusion-column-last\" style=\"width:30.6666%;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\" style=\"background-position:left
