Tegelijkertijd werd ook het door de Global Environment Facility (GEF) gefinancierde GBFF-project ge\u00efntroduceerd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De Vereniging Surinaams Bedrijfsleven (VSB) participeerde ook in deze workshop. Bestuurslid Arianne de Bye en onderdirecteur Kamlesh Ganesh waren aanwezig om de stem van het bedrijfsleven te laten horen in deze cruciale milieu-initiatieven.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Duurzame en Inclusieve Ontwikkeling van West-Suriname (SID-WS)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het SID-WS-project, dat wordt gefinancierd met een substantieel bedrag door de Global Environment Facility (GEF), richt zich op het versterken van ge\u00efntegreerd landschapsbeheer en duurzaam natuurbeheer in West-Suriname. Het project beschikt over een budget waarin aanzienlijke financiering is gereserveerd voor diverse initiatieven, waaronder:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>$4 miljoen per jaar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> van de overheid voor het behoud en beheer van intacte bossen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>$2,5 miljoen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> van internationale samenwerkingen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>$1 miljoen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> vanuit de private sector.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Componenten en Doelstellingen van het SID-WS Project<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>Component 1: Versterking van natuurbehoud onder verschillende beschermingsregimes<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Doelstelling:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Effectieve bescherming en beheer van het Amazonewoud in West-Suriname, met inclusieve benaderingen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Resultaten:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Verbetering van het beheer van beschermde gebieden zoals het Centraal Suriname Natuurreservaat, en het mobiliseren van nieuwe fondsen voor natuurbehoud. De betrokkenheid van lokale gemeenschappen, inclusief vrouwen en jongeren, staat centraal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Component 2: Bevordering van duurzame levensonderhoud en productie<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Doelstelling:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ondersteuning van een duurzame en inclusieve op de natuur gebaseerde economie.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Resultaten:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Versterking van natuurgebaseerde productiemethoden, zoals gemeenschapsbosbeheer en ecotoerisme geleid door vrouwen. Initiatieven dragen bij aan de voedselzekerheid van inheemse en tribale gemeenschappen.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Component 3: Versterking van het beleidskader<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Doelstelling:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Verbetering van governance, landschapsplanning en stimulansen voor natuurbehoud en duurzame ontwikkeling.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Resultaten:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Totstandkoming van multi-stakeholder overeenkomsten voor natuurbehoud en verbetering van handhaving van milieuwetgeving, met actieve betrokkenheid van inheemse en tribale gemeenschappen.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Component 4: Bevordering van capaciteitsopbouw, communicatie en regionale samenwerking<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Doelstelling:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Versterking van kennisbeheer en transnationale samenwerking ter bevordering van natuurbehoud.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Resultaten:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Verbetering van capaciteiten en kennisdeling van lokale gemeenschappen en instellingen, met een focus op de participatie van vrouwen en jongeren in leiderschapsrollen.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Component 5: Monitoring en Evaluatie<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het project streeft ernaar om meer dan <\/span><b>16 miljoen ton CO2-uitstoot<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> te verminderen, 148.386 hectare aan terrestrische beschermde gebieden te verbeteren en 168.000 hectare landschap onder duurzaam beheer te brengen. Daarnaast zal het levensonderhoud van <\/span><b>2.430 mensen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> worden verbeterd door GEF-financiering.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_3 1_3 fusion-one-third fusion-column-last\"
