Mr. Pretorius most recently served as Regional Senior Vice-President South America, Newmont Corporation.
Alwyn brings numerous years’ experience in the gold sector to CRS and has successfully managed portfolios of up to 10 mines with annual production of 1.3 million ounces of gold. He has also achieved step change improvements in safety and productivity and forged strong stakeholder relationships throughout his career. We are confident that his experience and expertise will help us build on our strong performance in Suriname and will help us grow to become a sustainable partner for international exploration and exploitation companies.
Mr. Pretorius has also served in leadership roles at Harmony and ARMgold.
The appointment of Mr. Pretorius as President of the Board supports the ambition of Consolidated Resources Suriname to become The Exploration partner for companies interested in untapping the mining potential of Suriname based on the highest international standards with a specific focus on health, safety and environment.
